Pictorialism (Gertrude Käsebier)
In this black and white pictorialism photograph of Gertrude Käsebier we see a women's silouhette sitting holding flowers by the window with some curtens.
I think the intention of the photographer was to show a lonely person holding flowers, maybe flowers that someone gave her. Maybe to show lonelyness and nostalgy.
My reaction of this photographer was very positive. I like how we see the person's silouhette, which makes it mysterious because we don't see who it is exactly. I find that it shows a lot of emotions and lonelyness.
I find this image good. I like the fact that it's black and white. I like the shadows and the feeling that this photograph gives.
Dry Plate Glass Negative
In this dry plate glass negative we see a very old, one of the first flying thing with someone on it. We see the sky, the sea and some land from very far in the backround. There's a man laying on the plane and flying above the sea. We also kind of see the shadow of the plane on the water. It was probably one of the first invention of the plane.
The photographer's intention was probably just to show how amazing this invention was and to show that it went far above the sea. He probably also wanted to show how high the plane was with that shadow above the water.
My reaction to this photograph is half, half. The image itself is pretty nice because we see the nature and the man flying above the sea, but it's nothing special and we don't really see any details, which makes it kind of boring.
Overall I think it's a good image. It's not detailed, but the rest is good. The main subject is in focus and for the time that it was taken, it was original and new.

Tintype by Robb Kendrick
This photo is created by Robb Kendrick using tintype of a cowboy. We see the whole body until his kness, but we don't see his face. He's wearing a scarf and his hands are in front holding his belt probably.
I think the photographer's intention was to make this photo kind of mysterious, because we don't see the cowboy's face. It makes the person who see's this photograph curious, to know more about this person and what he looks like.
I like this photo because it gives a mysterious mood. It makes me want to know who that man is and I also like how he's dressed.
I find this image quite good. I like the contrast and the mood of this photograph. It's a simple shot, but I think it's good.
